quartz and coper?

Can you find quartz with copper? If you can how can you tell if there is copper in the quartz? Can you extract the copper from the quartz?

 I haven't seen many copper nuggets, just in pics. I would think that if copper were found in it's natural state that it would show oxidation coloration. Silver I have found in rock appeared black til cleaned, lead oxidized white and maybe the copper would show green oxidation like patina. You may crush the quartz and pan the copper out like you would gold.
