I have been looking for some time for a good place to talk about treasures and alike, and I must admit this forum really covers that need. One of the reasons were that I was hoping I could dig up some financial aspects and maybe become an investor in the treasure hunting business? I heard of the two guys in Germany looking for treasures stolen in the second world war and I heard they have investors.

So how can I get involved in the gold rush? Smiley Anyone looking for investments to start searching for the next big thing?

Good Treasure Hunters are all ways in need of investors!
You'll find many on here... but my best suggestion would be to go with Floyd Mann!!!
He knows his research, and he & his team are very qualified in the field of treasure recovery!
Go check out his Investor page on his personal treasure hunting website...

P.S. Here's a video with Floyd Mann... I love this video! It shows how real he is...

Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

I could be wrong, but the last I heard but the minimum needed to invest in Mel Fisher's expeditions was $10,000.

Great video. Thanks for posting. Floyd is a great guy. He has helped me out with some research.

Well of course, I don't want to kick in 5000$ to whatever is needed from someone sounding like a Nigeria scam. I am mainly doing this because a) already making money in regular investments such as future trading on the exchanges, b) because its different, makes you feel like a part of an Indiana Jones, and because it could prove to be a tremendous find. I would be more than happy to go together with some of my partners to invest in a real treasure mission, to anyone that could prove they had "location" market.

Good Topic !

Thanks for the kind words about my Newsletter, etc.  7,000+ readers every 2 weeks Enjoy my FREE info.  I'm just amazed that not MORE T-Net readers are not interested in being "up-to-date" on current events in the treasure hunting world !

About investing:  this is a "gamble"---NEVER invest money you cannot afford to LOSE---because THAT is a very distinct possibility !  It is just like going to a casino:  you are there for "entertainment"---you will rarely win ( although I do a LOT ! ).  It sickens me when I hear about people investing "family" money in something, losing it, and then their family suffers.

ALL of MY investors sought me out---I rarely even mention that I have a TEAM, investors, etc---except in my own private Newsletter.  First off---it is ILLEGAL to troll for investors---you need to go by the book.  Every week I get many emails from people wanting ME to invest in THEIR site.  Basicly these people want people to pay them to treasure hunt !  ( Don't we ALL wish we could get paid to do this full-time ! ? ).  One guy's "business plan" was that he needed $100,000.00.  When questioned as to what the money was NEEDED for, his answer was that he wanted to buy a new pickup truck, detectors, etc & have enough money to support his family for a year, while he went out to treasure hunt !  SWEET !  I want that, too !  Don't you ?

In the 10 years that I have been doing this "professionally" I have learned that there are only about 5 U.S. treasure-hunting companies  that I would recommend you invest in.  These are all LEGAL corporations with a track record.  If you invest in a U.S. company, at least you have some sort of recourse, should you feel you got ripped off, etc.  If you invest in a foreign company---you are at their mercy, etc.  ( My personal opinion )

Over the years I've received easily over a thousand requests from various people wanting me to be "partners" with them on a site they think treasure is, etc.  After I've asked all of the HARD questions, researched their site, related stories, etc., etc.,---99% fail to pass my test.  Only a very few are valid & GOOD sites---so that is some indication that about 1% of the people that want money, actually have a good chance of ever re-paying you ANYTHING for your investment.  I can tell you more, but hopefully you now have the insight to just be VERY careful & selective when parting with your hard-earned dollars.

Quick Examples:  over the years I've heard from various "treasure hunters" on various treasure stories such as Swift's Silver Mines, Lost Dutchman, Lue, Beale, 17-Tons, etc etc.  In each of my files on these stories I have an average of lets say 6-7 different locations for EACH of these treasures.  How can THAT be ?  Do you want to risk your money on possibly investing in one of the six guys that are WRONG in their location ?  Might as well drive down the road & throw your money out the window !  Only ONE ( or NONE ! ) of these guys can, or might, be correct.  SO:  you see how difficult this "business" can be ?

ONLY invest your money, if you can stand to lose it.  Invest only if you want to be part of possibly something big and you want the thrill of a Dream, cheap entertainment, bragging rights, etc.  Believe it, or NOT, but I sometimes just have to turn down certain investors because they just have too high an expectation, or I "sense" that they are desperate and selling a valuable asset in order to "be in the game".

Well---I could ramble on forever, but everybody knows how to contact me, if they have questions, etc.

Happy Hunting & GOOD FORTUNE to ALL !

Floyd

Floyd, you are absolutely right, but on the other hand I dont expect a 5.4% interest monthly from investing in treasure hunts. I am not into life supporting people while they are out there digging holes in the beach and having a holiday at the same time. Risk is also a thing I Am used to, rarely a week goes by without one of the days or more being negative in the stock market.

This is all for the fun of it, and I would love to find that one company that had everything ready to go, but lacked the last thing which resulted in some cash that could be invested to jump start the mission.

Well, I was going to say that I totally agree with Jeff's comments... but I guess Floyd got wind of the thread. Cheesy
Thanks *SO* much on clearing everything up Floyd (as well as Jeff!) You really put everything into perspective, including the morals of THing. I definitely have even more respect for you than I did before!! Since I'm not terribly familiar with most of the THing companies that exist... yours was the first to come to mind, since I've read over your website alot (including the great monthly newsletters!)

And TheTreasure, if you happen to "drive down the road & throw your money out the window"... please let this college kid know when & where!! Cheesy  Wink

Excellent Post's Ladies, Gentlemen.   Floyd, I miss your news letter, lost it when my computer crashed.  but can now renew.

I know both sides of the coin in treasure and lost mine hunting, it can be rough, as well as exhilarating.  Generally the rough side predominates.

Don Jose de La Mancha

p.s.  I am glad that you showed discretion and didn't list TAYOPA in your questionables, otherwise your effigy would have been  receiving numerous pins you know where.  hehe.  Hmm on second thought you prob. just plain forgot about it.  sigh, sniff. ego killer.

p.p.s.  "The Treasure"  you posted -->I dont expect a 5.4% interest monthly .    Where can I find this type of business or investment ?? sheesh

Don Jose !  Of Course I could never forget YOU !  Ha Ha !  My point basicly was:  do your RESEARCH before investing in ANYONE.  For investors in the U.S.:  ( MY opinion)---invest in U.S.- based treasure- hunting outfits.  Your State Attorney General or the U.S. Atty. General, & your State elected officials can at least TRY to help you if you feel you have been ripped off.  I am positive that some of the treasure-hunting groups that seek investors that are based in foreign countries ( Phillippines, England, MEXICO ) are very good & legitimate---but what if they are NOT ?  Who are you going to complain to or seek help from ?

Besides investing in MY own TEAM ( company)---I am an investor in several other U.S. teams.  I follow the old adage:  Don't put all of your eggs in one basket.

What ?  Your computer crashed & you missed an issue or two of my Newsletter ?  Bummer !  You should remember that you can read ALL 123 of my Back Issues by clicking on the NEWSLETTER button at:  http://www.LostTreasureUSA.com/

Side Note:  For years I have been sending out copies ( FREE ! ) of the articles in my database to anyone that needed or wanted help in THEIR research.  GREAT NEWS:  in about 2 weeks I will ADD the years 1995-2007 ( an additional thousand articles ) to my 20,000+ articles already listed on my RESEARCH page.  Watch for an announcement in my Newsletter.

INVEST responsibly.  We ALL want to be Rich and better ourselves and our family's lifestyle, but we owe it to our loved ones to FIRST look out for THEM.  If you are in a position that you have extra cash to "gamble" with ( tax refund, inheritance, sale of an un-needed item, etc )--then go ahead & take a risk.

I could ramble on for hours on various similarly-related topics about investing in a treasure hunting TEAM, but I hope I've made my point & that you will be very careful, etc.  OK ??

Floyd

The Treasure
Sir:
First order of business, in T'Hunting investing is:
1...Investgate the "T'Hunter" himself"
Is he an "open" person, has he been around for awhile
If he's on this "Forum" check his "posts"
Talk Person to Person..
Go with your instincts/feelings about him
2....Then, if he "Passes Muster" ask about "THE" Project
Don't be put off, if he's not out & out upfront with his information
3..Ask what the money will be used/needed for!
Remember Also!
He's also going to be checking YOU OUT too!

I know of a Very LARGE (Huge ), Treasure in shallow water
But!
I'll be darn! if I going to reveal anything about it until everything is "Up & UP"
On! Both sides!
AND!
Until,
I am completely ready to comit   FULLY & to go for it!
Treasure Hunting is Tricky:
I have been working on one Treasure,
AND!
I have a Church document and Map to work from
Yet,
It has taken me,   FIVE YEARS     of work in the field
Hiking over mtns, etc, and researching & more researching
I am now ready to, hopefully, go in and make the recovery!
If some one were to want to invest,  (I am NOT! ASKing! It is beyond that point now!)
I could be able to show the
                                                   "Invester" some actual evidence
Both acedemic and in the field
Before asking for "The Invester" & to go foreward!
So!     Research! and Reseacrh!     before you invest!
Don't be afraid to ask questions.... After all it's our money !
Also,
Find another TH'er and ask his opinion of the Project/Person ...
Then you can settle down to the finer points,
ie: % & etc...

Hey, if someone wants to "invest" a couple million dollars in me I will gladly take a few years off and go treasure hunting!  Can't promise anything, but you never know!  Just a couple million, nothing more than say, 5-10 mil at most because hey, I am new at this, and I wouldn't want you to expect too much!

I would get started a month or so after receiving the funds.  I need a nice cruise or two to get ready to invest my time, effort, and knowledge into the project!

Must be someone around with more money than they know what to do with.  At the very least, you get the satisfaction of knowing you helped my family out, and may just get that treasure you dreamed of!  Bound to be some great finds here in Western Mass.

Problem I see is comments like this make me laugh

Just watched National Treasure... well, lotsa hidden signs, ancient languages, adventure, travel, challenge, and not to forget envy, enmity, ... its fun though...

Too much Fantasy involved.

Don't get me wrong, there are treasures out there,
but it's no where near this movie or Indiana Jones.

My advice is to invest in a good metal detector and join the "gold rush" for yourself, that is of course, if you are physically able to do the work involved.  With record prices of gold and silver, it doesn't take many gold rings or old silver coins to show a nice profit.  Once you learn about your detector and search methods, there is very little, if any, risk of losing money on your "investment".
Good Luck !

I got in with Odyssey Marine Exploration at $2.30 a share.  It spiked as high as $9 and now is just below $5.  I plan on buying more in the near future.  I think Odyssey has long term potential.  Wish I could have gotten in with the Atocha investors!  I wouldn't mind my dividends paid in emeralds or big hunkin gold chains!
