Wonder what Gore would have to say about this ?

Subzero Temperatures Batter Europe

Snowstorms and subfreezing temperatures have battered Europe, killing 15 people in Poland alone overnight and wreaking havoc on air, train and car travelers from the Nordics to Italy on the last weekend before Christmas.

France's civil aviation authority ordered the cancellation of 40% of flights out of Paris' Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports Sunday through the mid-afternoon.

In Britain, officials at Manchester Airport -- Britain's busiest outside the London area -- said its only runway was being closed for emergency snow clearance and deicing work.

Belgium's three biggest airports, Brussels, Charleroi and Liege, were completely shut, while travelers at Amsterdam's Schiphol airport faced delays and cancellations.

There was trouble on the railways too, with trains from Belgium to Italy delayed by icy, frozen tracks. Eurostar trains through the Channel Tunnel weren't running Sunday as officials tried to pinpoint the problem that led four trains to come to a halt in the tunnel linking England and France, leaving passengers stranded for hours Saturday.

Officials have speculated that the quick transition from the icy cold of northern France to the relative warmth of the tunnel might have caused condensation that interfered with the trains' electrical systems.

The Eurostar shutdown has stranded more than 50,000 passengers in France and Britain over the past two days.

So far the cold snap has been deadliest in Poland, where 15 people froze to death between Saturday and Sunday as temperatures fell as low as minus 20 Celsius (minus four degrees Fahrenheit) overnight in some places.

Police appealed Sunday to Poles to alert police if they come across homeless or drunk people lying outdoors, attempting to lower the number of people who die each winter from the bitter cold.

In Austria, authorities reported two people froze to death as they tried to make their way home after evenings out. Both were found in the southern province of Styria, where temperatures fell below minus 20 degrees Celsius.

A homeless Polish man was found dead Saturday in the French Mediterranean port city of Marseille, where temperatures fell to around freezing.

In Germany, temperatures sank to between minus 15 and minus 20 Celsius (five and minus four Fahrenheit) overnight across much of the country. A homeless man in Mannheim apparently froze to death early Saturday as he slept near disused railway tracks after drinking, police said.

In Italy, where winters are generally milder, heavy snow and subfreezing temperatures were causing havoc. In Sicily, the Defense Ministry dispatched helicopters to ferry civil protection crews to people in need of urgent medical care.

Italian farm lobby Coldiretti warned that the ice-and-snow-blanketed roads were delaying the distribution of milk and produce while the freezing temperatures risked damaging fruit trees, olive groves and vineyards.

Major football matches were canceled in Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands.

"My GOD! This global warming stuff is getting serious!! Don't you understand that the lower temperatures are the necessary end result of Global Warming? Of course the temps have to drop! You just watch . . . when summer comes around it will be hot again! Then you'll believe in global warming!"

I've actually heard an argument very similar to that one in recent weeks at work from one of our customers!!

ROFLMAO!!

I know, thats the standard line of the warming crowd "Of course it gets cooler when theres global warming ... Cycles and all of that", as if thats the most obvious thing on earth.

You're right guy, blizzards in winter? 5 days of below freezing temps? Who ever thought of such a thing? I'm gonna go burn some tires and styrofoam to celebrate! BTW, it's in the 40's here today in Eastern Europe (that's across the ocean, not in Las Vegas, so you know).

No problem Xraid, just to note though, drunks (this report should have been named "Olde English? COLD English!" seem to turn up frozen all the time bud, you can freeze to death when the temp goes below about 60F.

Record low temperatures. Record blizzards. Record cold in EUROPE in France shuts down the tunnel trains. Of course we're warming up. The last few summers being milder than normal is also proof of global warming, isn't it?

Once again you prove you know not of what you speak.
Hypothermia occurs when the body loses heat faster than it can produce heat.
Left untreated it leads to death.  This is not freezing to death as it can occur when your body temperature goes below 95 degrees,  far from freezing.
I realize the liberal mind runs on feelings and emotion,  not facts.
Go ahead and buy into this global warming/climate change farce if you want.
I would feel awful silly if I was pushing one thing while all around the exact
opposite was happening.  I hope you are getting paid well to push this myth.

As I said before Credibility is a long hard climb,  start over,  you can do it.

Exactly!  Record low temperatures, has to be global warming.
Just imagine how hot it will be during the next iceage.

Checko is at it again! Typical lib, if he cannot fight the facts, he fights you. Typical tactic here the facts are that the whole green mantra about global warning is a hoax, climategate proves it. Did you see where the US senator addressed the Copenhagen elect? Yea, told them very plainly that it was a HOAX. They didn’t like it ….and then the Obomination turns right around and assures them we will cut emissions! Celebrate this…he wanted to sign but couldn’t as he would have been arrested as a traitor! Yea Checko commie guy, your hero felt the heat of the American public opinion! Truth reigns in the United State of American and you cannot do anything about it big boy! I hope you all know he is here to try to keep the lie in front of you so that he gets paid by Soro’s machine. See they are trying every tactic they can to get public onion swayed…why else would a lib like him come to a basically conservative forum to spew his poison?

Yea, though I walk through the Valley of Death I will fear no evil for thou art with me.

Climate Models Irreducibly Imprecise

A number of recent papers analyzing the nature of climate models have yielded a stunning result little known outside of mathematical circles—climate models like the ones relied on by the IPCC contain “irreducible imprecision.” According to one researcher, all interesting solutions for atmospheric and oceanic simulation (AOS) models are chaotic, hence almost certainly structurally unstable. Further more, this instability is an intrinsic mathematical property of the models which can not be eliminated. Analysis suggests that models should only be used to study processes and phenomena, not for precise comparisons with nature. (Doug L. Hoffman, The Resilient Earth)

Surface minus satellites – some differences look political

Lately I have had people pulling my chain telling me that the lower troposphere satellite temperature trends are very close to those at the surface. I just want to point out that this is far from so everywhere.

Wayback in 2006 I drew attention to, “Satellites vs surface, amazing agreement over the USA.” I know that over Australia and Europe trends are fairly close.

Almost a decade ago I drew attention to how hard it was to discover IPCC GW in USSR station data in high warming grid cells – “USSR High Magnitude Climate Warming Anomalies 1901-1996″. Following all that work I formed a view that IPCC GW is to a large extent USSR warming.

Comparing the Spencer & Christy lower troposphere satellite data with HadCRUT3 both downloadable at the KNMI Climate Explorer – for three noteworthy regions -all cases use the 30 year period 1979-2008.

For Asia;
HadCRUT3 warms at 0.46
UAH MSU warms at 0.33
Possible Surface data error of 0.13 per decade
For East China;
HadCRUT3 warms at 0.44
UAH MSU warms at 0.21
Possible Surface data error of 0.23 per decade
For Africa;
HadCRUT3 warms at 0.315
UAH MSU warms at 0.013
Possible Surface data error of 0.302 per decade
So I am saying there are HUGE inconsistencies in satellite minus surface figures around the globe. Post ClimateGate – it is interesting that we heard the Russians speaking out against the quota of warming IPCC/CRU/Jones find in Russian datasets. (Warwick Hughes)

Ah, tropical Florida.

Arkansas: (extreme southeast corner of state, I can throw a snowball to Louisiana from here) Snow flurries yesterday. We have not been above freezing now in 4 days, but may see 34 degrees f (1 degree c) today.

Single digits two nights running. Broke records more than 25 years old.

Our high temps . . . were lower than our average low temps. 10:00 AM - bright sunshine, no clouds and we've just cracked 25 f, but the average low is 37 f. Our low today was 19 f. The record was set in 1966 of 18 f (44 years ago).

My wife finally heard some jackass say it on NBC yesterday: "These temperatures are the result of global warming." That ended her belief in global warming completely.

The computer model’s tell them as the Earth warms up there will be more clouds  covering the Earth. By doing this it will hold more warm air on the surface…..In the next sentence they say this cloud cover will cause the Suns Rays to bounce back into space…If the suns rays bounce back into space it seems to me that the temperature on the surface would be cooler…I am not an Astronomer like Hansen or a Politian like Gore  but I do think that I have more common sense than both of them….Art

I think the worst implication here is that the general poplulance is not smart enough to figure this out. I know a huge part of the country is more or less ambivalent and thus will not do anything until we hurting economically from the polices of cap and trade, but that is not stupidity. Those that ignore science or the obvious inconsistencies given out by scientist are not stupid but politicized.  I personally think it is time to do something about it. I will ride to Little Rock AR with my mother because she is afraid to fly or travel alone this weekend. I have used Amtrack extensively in the past, but this is the last time. They have a ride green space on their website. Does it speak of how using less fuel helps drill less and thus help the environment? Nope, it is just a crapolla page hawking the advantages of less fuel use producing less CO2 and thus helping combat MMGW. I am sick of it and will not ride them again until it is taken off the website. Enough is enough. Boycott these liars. They are supporting policies that will rape your fellow citizen of his or her job. Send em a Nasty via email, they deserve it.

Want to see something really, really well done to counter Al Gore and the global warming advocates? This video by John Coleman, a meteorologist who is Co-founder of the Weather Channel is really worth watching. It's the best I've seen.  No matter how you feel about global warming, this a  viewpoint that deserves to be considered.  The long term geo-historical record is impossible to deny, although global warming advocates have done their best to hide it.  Here it is:

We are in a Sun Cycle.  This comes around every so often when the Sun reverses polarity and bombards the Earth with rays that our scientists don't understand or haven't discovered yet.  These rays set off undersea volcanoes that creates the Global Warming by changing the water patterns.  The water of this planet heat up.  The powers that be are using HAARP as a way to overcome this natural cycle and I think the Chem Trails are a part of this project.  Of course 'we the people' are not told any of this because it would disturb how civilization operates and people would be running wild in the streets...because all of this is leading to.................wait for it......................the Earth tilting on her axis and new poles being created.  The Mayan calendar runs out December 21, 2012.  What does that tell you?  Native Americans have known of this cycle but only recently have they tried to get the word out.  You won't hear any of this on the six o'clock news because our media is controlled just like our government by the Powers That Be.  Who are 'THEY'?  Read The Biggest Secret by David Icke or go on Red Elk's web site and get enlightened.  It's later than you think.

Get a copy of "1421, The year China discovered America" Galvin Menses?
At the time of the sailing to the treasure fleet, the coast of Antarctica was a landform.  Now covered by ice sheet, snow drifts, and sea ice.
Check out "America B.C." also. Interesting book.

National Geographic has had many articles on the deep ocean currents and their effect on climate change around the world.  Not to mention the impact on life in the oceans and ocean-surface circulation currents.

And for the true believers, yes the Earths axis has shifted, and the "Magnetic Pole" has reversed many times in geologic time periods.  PBS Special a number of years ago on that subject and accompanying weather-related events and climate change implications.
