From a box of mostly WW1 items...

I'm amazed at how much history I have already discovered from this one little box of free 'junk'

Thanks in advance

I can't tell exactly from your pics, but mu guess is .45 cal. need to see an accurate measurement to confirm that though.

Occasionally one mans trash is another mans treasure, usually though, it's just trash.

it seems closer to .50 cal, but its hard to tell.
the shape suggests handgun bullet, so a colt .45 could be possible

Fired .45acp or .455 Webley full metal jacket military round . Best guess without accurate measurement .

Is there a way I could take pictures to make it easier to identify?

doesnt even need to be pictures, but an accurate measurement of the diameter would help determine the caliber
"Is that a Geiger Counter?"

I'd go with WWI era .45 ACP FMJ.  Have some just like it.
