. . . for finding ring owners that is.

Last September, I found my first gold class ring (class of 1971) and was able to send it back
to it's owner before Christmas.

About 10-days after I returned it, I found my SECOND class ring  (I just had to find another to
replace the first one Roll Eyes) This second ring was class of 1974 and fortunately, had the student's
full name engraved on the inside.

Through the WONDERFUL help of Des Plaines Silver Bob's sister thumbsup who's a member of
an ancestry website, I was able to contact the owner of this second ring. After asking her some
questions about the ring itself and how it may have been lost, it was in fact hers.

I guess I'll have to find a another class ring to replace this one now. . . maybe today at the sledding hills Smiley

Thanks for looking!

2 for 2 is outstanding!  Great job returning them!  I lost my class ring 3 days after I bought it, I know where and was able to look for it even as a seasoned detector but did not find it.  Congrats but too bad you could not hand it over in person with pictures.  HH, Mike

Great job returning the tings, Mark!

I don't know what to wish for for ya - a third ring from a close-by owner so you can return it in person, or a gold ring you can keep for yourself...  I know either one would thrill you.   Wink

Come to think of it, I think you deserve a keeper!  Wink

Thanks everyone, I appreciate all your comments. . . excitement wise, It's been sort of a "toss-up" between
finding the rings or finding their owners. . . but after you're on the phone talking with a real person and getting the
"behind-the-scenes" accounts of how they were lost, there was definitely more excitement in tracking them down.

BTW, if any T-Netter's have lost a class ring lately. . . "Have detector, will travel" (as long as the ground ain't froze Grin)

Thanks again,

Great job and very fulfilling. I once reunited a 1928 solid gold womans classring to an elderly woman in an old age home. What a great experience. She sent me a letter describing how she lost the ring after only having it for a week. She said she balled like a baby then and balled like a baby when I returned it to her. thumbsup
