Early this year I found 20 bicentennial half dollars in a round plastic case buried in the garden wrapped in some rags by an old homesite. Kind of weird. That same week I found a half-dollar, an Adams dollar and a Sacajewea dollar all in the same park.

I have been doing something similar in a few of the local parks.  Throwing common coins into containers and then burrying them about 2 inches deep. 

Hey if we don't replant the stuff there won't be anything to dig up later.

And NO I don't go back and dig my own stuff.

This is another good example of why this hobby is so much fun. You really never know what you are going to find. I bet if you had a thousand guesses on what you would find before you went out, you never would have guessed that.
