Hey there, mpostma, I lived in Wolverine all during the 70's and worked in Petoskey for a while at L and L Supply: a restruarant and bar supply; In the Crago Shopping Center. Then at Preston Feather Lumber yard before getting into carpentry. As I understand now, his son-in-law runs it now. There was a young guy there named Mark that delivered Brick with the boom truck.
Have a good day.

Bounty Hunter Tracker IV ---- Paid $125 for it at Dunhams --- Hopefully we made a good choice??? personally i wouldnt of gotten it... should of gotten the silver umax for a 100 bucks more. or you could of gotten a used one from e-bay for that price.. i wouldnt think you would get the depth you want with that. then again it could be a good starter machine, but ill bet after this year you will buy a better one after your first gold ring find, unless that tracker iv dont pick it up

The price was right for me at the time, and the first coin I found was a Sac dollar! (not kidding!) It's a very light machine, similar to tesoro's in weight. I had a blast finding lots of clad, a silver ring, and even an old toy gun (50's era). True, I have upgraded rather quickly in 1-1/2 years but the Tracker is still with me! In fact when I got my Whites Prizm, I would still go back to the Tracker for tot lots.

Well I live in Ferndalejust north of Detroit! I live here with my wife and son about a block from Woodward which is the first paved road in the U.S. and a block and a half from lovely 8 mile.........And the prayer lines are open...LOL! 363 days of comfortable safe living until New Years Eve at midnight..When you hear all the guns being shot... and you would not believe how many there are...you either feel very safe or very afraid.....As a responsible gun owner who does not shoot his guns then I lean towards very concerned.....! Contact me if anyone can put up with a guy who owns a Whites XLT with nary a clue on how to really use it... but to solve the problem I bought a Whites thats submersible also so I can add the fear of drowning to the learning curve. help....!!

I've already told ya all where I'm at, But what ya may not know is that, I got into this crazy hobby back in 1960. Yep, you read that right, My parents when trying to curb my unsatiable, unncontrolable, overactive trouble making nature, bought me a Radio Shack metal detector for my tenth birthday. Anyone here know what a B.F.O. is ? That's how most detectors operated back then. Beat Frequency Oscillator, look it up, good for approximately 3 inches max. deep, tot lottin' and sand huntin'. Yes, the good ole days are gone. And I did spend all the silver I found . I did start saving coins again, mostly common date silver coins, and in 1979 when silver was 58.00 an ounce, (look up the Hunt Brothers) I cashed in 120.00 and got 4200.00, no I didn't buy a new machine, I bought a new truck. Started saving again for a new machine. After the Radio Shack I bought a White's Metal or mineral no meter (dig it all) with the 4 DB coil, next upgrade was to a Compass yukon 94B, Compass Judge 1 auto., Compass Judge 2 auto., Compass Relic Magnum 7, then Fisher 1260-X, Fisher CZ-5, Fisher 1265-X, Fisher 1266-X/HotHead coil ( I still use it ) then my final machine, A Minelab Explorer XS, which is 9 years old and still producing. Just purchased the new 11", "DD" Pro Coil for it. All my old haunts are producing silver again. Averaging 10" for pennies, up to 14" on silver and larger stuff. In fact I am going back to my fav park today to get some more DEEP silver ........NGE

Houghton Lake for me. Moved from Lansing about 6 years ago. Also check out the Clubs and Hunts forum as I am looking to start a detecting club up here in Northern Lower Michigan. Minelab Explorer II is all I have now - sold everything else I have owned over all the years. Happy and successful detecting in 2010 everyone.

So summer will be good and fun if I can find reasons to get off work.

Live in Norton Shores. Used a Bounty Hunter for many years. Just picked up a Whites DFX and anxious to get out there and give it a try. Detect the New Mexico desert every winter and have many great finds. This years best was a Barber half dollar, 1908 and very good condition and a mans gold ring date on the inside May17-16 with initials. Also many 19 teens military items.
