Okay I changed the title of the thread to make you all happy!  Grin

Hey Everybody!

I was out with MikeinPA. and Sniper19612003 yesterday searching around a cellar hole and look what I found at about 4".  Needless to say, I am still in shock.  As best I can tell from brief research last night, it's worth at least $3K!  If anybody has additional info to share, it would be greatly appreciated!  Great way to start the season, eh?

HH,

Rick (Goalrush)

Congrats on a true GW button in excellent shape!

Don

Please change your Title to reflect the button, just go into modify and change the title, that simple!  That way besides the banner helping, more will know immediately your post is a goodie!

Thanks again everybody!  You're all too kind.  I'll try to answer a few questions that have come up on this thread and through PMs.  The button was found about 4" deep about 10' away from a cellar hole to an old shepherd's cottage.  This cellar hole is adjacent to an old Colonial Road which was heavily traveled by Washington's troops (amongst others).  Many have asked what I am going to do with it.  It belongs to the property owners where it was found.  If they decide to give it to me, I'll be flattered to no end.  At no point did I ever consider throwing it in my pocket and walking away.  Our group was granted permission to search this property to recapture the history there and this button is a BIG piece of that history.  My values and integrity are far more valuable than the button is to me.  So we'll continue our work for these folks and hopefully our good deeds will be rewarded in other ways.  Thanks again one and all!

Happy Hunting,
Rick (Goalrush)
