I was able to be invited to hunt last weekend in Virginia with 124 other people. It rained all weekend and was cold, but the relics and coins were everywhere. I found a 1862 Princess Head $1 Gold coin and a 1876-CC Seated LibertyQuarter with a hole in it. I found a lot of relic's as well, but the coins caught the attention of the people. I was able to meet up with old friends and make new ones. It was a great time

Very nice. Was this a club hunt? Planted area or were you just lucky enough to snag that gold coin? If so then that would be a banner day for me or anyone for that matter. Way to go...Congrats.... jgas

This was like a DIV hunt where we rent property from landowners for three days and keep all that we find. There were not planted coins or relics. Every Find was lost way back when. HH...Jesse.

When I first read your story, I wondered why you didn't write with more enthusiasm, considering this is the find of a lifetime. I then put myself in your shoes and realized that you were probably a little tired from jumping up and down and screaming a lot.
Seriously though....Congratulations of the find of a lifetime.

WOW im Impressed, what were you thinking from the time the gold rang up and to the time of discovery, give us a play by play man!
Not to down play the CC as I know you were smiling the second you heard the silver.

Congrats on the great finds! Don't see many of the one dollar gold found - must be because of the small size. Lucky they missed the mintmark and date when they holed that silver.

I have never seen a Princess Head coin before--here or anywhere else (except books).
A Seated quarter would have me doing back-flips. Digging a very rare gold coin with great detail.. I just can't imagine it.
CONGRATULATIONS!!
