Ok i finally got permission to hunt a spot I have been drooling over for the last two years. Its a spot in downtown Marion Illinois where there once used to sit a grand old house built in 1904. About 5 years ago the old place was torn down and all that remains in a vacant lot. I was excited, i had visions of pulling barbers mercs wheats injuns you name it i had them dancing in my head. Four hours later all i have are a few pennies and some clad. Not even one wheat cent.....I was a little upset, but it appeared that some one had beaten me to the spot. I guess i should have found out who owned the place a little sooner. So just when i thought the day was going to be a dud, i get a good dime signal in the grassy area between the street and the sidewalk. Dig down and out pops a 1923-p Mercury Dime. And its a beauty one of the best looking mercs ive dug. I knew it was going to have good detail so i didnt touch until i got to the nearest gas station to wash off the dirt. I know 1923 isnt a key or anything but its in wonderful condition so im pretty proud. The day before i dug the poor looking 42-d a block away in the grassy area between the road and sidewalk. It seen better days, but who cares its a silver dime. The Whatsit I think is used for weed. Well I know it is because there was marijuana in it when i found it laying on the side of the road. Some poor fellow must have lost it dropped it or something..Not sure what it does but had quite a bit in it. Threw the weed out and took it home,  quite the conversation piece.....

nice dime.  As for the Marley, looks like a sifter tin/grinder

One time I was returning a video early in the a.m. and there was a baggie with about a quarter oz of weed in it not too far from the return box.  I was tempted to take it but then I was worried maybe it was a set up or something plus I had my daughter in the car, a baby at the time, and if I had got pulled over...  so anyway, I went ahead and picked it up and put it in the video drop box too.  I figured the employees would enjoy it and have a great story to tell laughing9

Congrats on the silver. Even though I've been sober for 24 years now, I would have kept weed and gave it away to a friend.
