Detector used Detector(s) Used - White's XLT

Posted Jul 30, 2009, 05:07:33 pm

I got out for a short hunt this evening on the outskirts of New Bern and came away with these items. From left, buckshot, round ball, poss fired Burnside, unknown, unknown, and unknown. Any ideas on the items on the right or if that is in fact a Burnside. It has a flat bottom and looks like two rings.

Nice finds. The first unknown, the round one, is a slide piece from an umbrella. Lots of these are found on civil war sites. I guess the rain didn't stop for war.  Undecided

Bullet, bullet, bullet, umbrella slide, cannon fuse primer, and it does appear to be a bugle mouth piece.

Agreed, but they turn up on nearly every field I do over here!

The far right is a broken hook.
