I've been dying to find a CW buckle after seeing so many posted up on TN.  I thought if I ever did find one it would be out in the woods I hunt, not a yard.

I was wondering what that ornate piece was too. I almost thought it was junk, but then I saw a desing & a bit of a flash on it. No idea though.

That's the sad part. I did have my camera in my truck about 100 yards away. I was not expecting this find at all, and I really didn't want others to see me filming it, since it was in a very busy area. Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Doug, I hope you have figured it out by now....no need to keep whining about not finding any silver.....silver is not what you should be looking for in your area....your a CW master hunter now....CW relics is what you should be detecting for.....And it looks like you found another AMAZING piece!!

You can bet I'll get this buckle authenticated and appraised. I need to do that anyways as part of the entry process for the W & ET "Best Finds" edition.

My machine rang up as "beep".    I use a very basic (but deadly) machine with no display. I can tell most targets by the tone I get, but this one I had no clue. I new it was large, but I was expecting another Matchbox car.

Pretty sweet Doug.  But you know what this means - you ain't got a chance now to get that 1/2 real. 

*I found it in an open area that DD-777 and Mirage had hit a few weeks back. I can't believe they missed it, but I'm truly thankful. 
It must have been my Mighty Tesoro Umax. 

We only had about a half hour to 45 minutes max at that site.   5 minutes more and it would have been mine!     That's why I come down to hunt at your sites....I'm no dummy.

              I don't think we appreciated how very rare that NC buckle was when you recovered it MM. I have not seen one like it since you dug this one on dealer or treasure sites. It's doubtful you will top this find in your lifetime. This ranks in the top 10 best CW relic finds ever on Tnet in my opinion. HH, Quindy.

Believe me I looked. I'm thinking the early 1900's house may have been built on top of it.  The 1900's house was built on an 1800's house property. I found this part of the buckle out front.
