Just a small sample of what keeps me sane.  Sorry the pictures aren't that good.  I love to grab an antler or rock and start banging or chipping on another rock,  or glass,  it calms me.  And nothing makes your worst problems disappear like a sharp piece of flint or glass embedded in your hand. Sorry, no pictures of blood spurting from a fresh wound.

Nice stuff well done. I tried it once. Studied it and started trying it.In no time I had flint flying. I was barefoot and stepped on a flake and drove it into my left foot. I thought I pulled it out   help.
Xrays showed nothing, foot doctor scheduled surgery,,,, enscapulated now way up in between all the tendons. Been a year some days it hurts more than others. I wonder if the  ancients had the same woes. Maybe someday I shall try again until then I enjoy seeing your work.  thumbsup

Nice work pronghorn. I know what you mean, there's something about knapping that just eases my mind. The sounds of the flakes coming off a spall, the instant results, very satisfying hobby. It's also piece of mind knowing that if tshtf you can make your own survival tools like the ancients once did.

Pronghorn are you still Knapping? Anything recent? I do not want to hi-jack your post but flint still in the foot. Surgeon I had was a quack. Wanted duck hunting rights to a creek I have and wanted to do an xray for the flint and he seemed like a kid. Hopefully after hunting season I will take time and have a cat scan and schedule surgery. No way you will see flint slivers in an x-ray in your foot, lol idiot : )
 Keep knapping pronghorn.

Hello  TnMountains
How are you doing?  Ever get that flint sliver taken care of?
Did you have surgery?

Haven't done hardly any knapping since I first started this
thread, had to take a real job along with my part time job so
free time is precious and I love to hunt and fish.  Plus we
rescued another dog.

MrT
Care to guess what the green one is made from?

It's from the base of a Jagermeister bottle.

Don't worry about hijacking, let the thread go wherever it goes,
doesn't bother me.
