Today I carried on gridding where Crusader and I left off. The field has been ploughed and rolled so it was a bit easier. Didn't find too much in 4 hours, a large book clasp and some buttons! Well pleased with the two hammered though, I think one is a Charles 1 Half Groat and the other Neither are in good shape, but they still count

Nice Finds Shaun ! I would not have know what that book clasp was if I had found it over here. Ya learn something new everyday Thanks Bob, sometimes you learn the hard way though! Two weeks ago I was looking at something i found that had been hanging around for a while. Just some bent up copper, but bent in a way as to serve a purpose, anyway i started bending it back and broke it! No great loss, it went in the bin! Last week I found out that these were a rivet for repairing sheet metals and possibly Roman

Well done, Shaun.
My luck has been not as good. Yesterday, the "Bad" neighbor asks me to do him a favor and find an underground waterpipe on his property. So, hoping this will be an introduction for me to ask him for permission to hunt his land. I happily comply, go get my machine and do him the favor in a few seconds flat..
He asks, "You find anything important with that thing?". I say, "Sometimes." and I start sweeping just around us, and instantly get a hit. I say, "Here's a good hit." thinking it's a piece of aluminum or a small common coin, and out pops at least a 6-8 gram gold men's ring from 2" down, with a small blue saphhire in it. He grabs it. Puts in his pocket like I was stealing it from him and walks away, without even a thank you for either the pipe finding or the $100 worth of gold.
It was my second gold ring find. I've been depressed for over 24 hours now.

That's terrible, you should go and ask if you could at least take some pics of it! That way you could use it as an avatar like I do with one of my lost coins I find it helps

He bought this house a few years back, and has had workers around it for more than three years restoring it. It is 400 years old, with an attached small abandoned Catholic Church. He will return from his city digs tomorrow, maybe then he'll let me take pics if he brings it back with him. But, actually, it was my last thought.
It isn't the first time I did favors for the guy, and received nothing in return.
I have my first gold ring as my avatar, and sometimes wear it. This other one already has a bad memory attached to it.
I was about to say "50-50" on anything I find, but the beeps got me excited.

You could always run your waste into the water pipe you located for him, seeing as he is away all week What a rude person

I tested the stuff I needed to, but just wasn't into it where I was. I'll be out Monday and Tuesday so we'll see if your post is still there to knock off.

Cost me about $55 every time it's on, and this Fall at least every other week. I tend to not waste money on REALLY stupid thngs so that's my excuse for running up my bill. Yes, but for the detector it was that Vat Fat Cat that rubbed the salt in your wounds! The bloke wasn't that bad. You are putting it to very good use.
