Here's what we found on this place. http://picasaweb.google.com/shootmor/HarrysHoard#
I have the place for sale. 83 acres, all concrete all underground home, old barn, good chicken house. Located 6 miles from a small community of 400 people, 11 miles from prosperous county seat town, 30 Miles from Springfield, MO that has major medical facilities. Pictures at http://picasaweb.google.com/shootmor/LandForSale830FactoryRoadNianguaMo#

Harry was a survivalist, anti government, anti bank and had been robbed once so he buried his money then died. His brother Bud in the pictures was supposed to get the money. Bud had a stroke and couldn't do much so gave me and my partner Steve 10% to help find and dig up the money. Out of a bunch of locations we only found two for a total of $38,000. Harry had made two maps with instructions-1997 and 1999 showing where some of the stuff was buried. He had shown Bud where some of the locations were but Bud couldn't remember much about them. To say that Harry was different would be an understatement. We also have lots of pictures also but Harry referenced everything to trees and he had planted over 400 of them some of which died and the others had grown a lot so that in itself was confusing. We were like a bunch of kids finding and digging the stuff up-had a ball. I am getting old and want to sell the place and take it easy. It's a wonderful survivalist place but I have another one close to the kids. $219,000

Ha, if I only had the money... sounds like the kind of place I'd love to move to, even though I just moved away from Springfield after living there for 6 years. lol
The trade-off wasn't bad though.... Wink

He means everything but the front is under ground, even the roof would be concrete. I use to live in Columbia Mo, and I saw a lot of all concrete homes built into hill sides. It also made it a lot cheaper to heat and cool them. the only thing visible on the homes would be the front, and sometimes they would build a porch on the front that was not in the hill side.

The only wood in the house is the bathrooms between the bedrooms. I have pictures of when it was under construction in 1978

We did not find it all. The maps are included with the property plus several pictures. $219,900 for the 83 acres. I know pretty close to where some gold is buried but I have  the place rented out and do not want the renters seeing me searching there as it might take a while to find it and it is close to the house. When Harry dug something up he never filled the holes back in so we can see where anything is gone. There is more there, we just haven't found it yet. I'm not a very dedicated treasure hunter, I'm old and lazy-by design LOL

Don't know plus Harry said in the instructions with the maps that that was where "some" of the stuff was buried.  Harry was a very different kind of fellow.

Is the old cannery also on property?

any pictures of all sides of barn?

what county is it in

does it have a separate tornadoe shelter?

does the other man have any rights to the property?

I think the tax statements say 1600 sq ft but I think they included an outside room. Wood stove and wood burning fireplace insert. Window air conditioner. Drilled well. 2 bedrooms probably 11x11. Full bath in one bedroom. sink and stool in other bedroom plus a tub with shower in the utility room. Very large living room, formal dining room.
The cannery has been sold off. There is a huge spring beside the cannery that used to be piped across the road and might could be again. it wasn't a cannery, it was a cheese house.
It has perimeter fence but no cross fences. I think the mineral rights are with it but don't know for sure but will check on it. It is in Webster county, MO and the mineral rights are considered worthless. I don't have barn pictures at this time but could get some. It is an old loft type barn maybe 40x50 and suffered some wind damage to the roof this year. It is a tornado shelter. Don't know about neighboring land for sale. Nobody has any rights to the place.
Harry built the house in 1978 and we have pictures of it under construction plus some of the builders are still around here. The interior pictures were taken when my granddaughter lived there and she kept it neat and clean. I now have a renter in it who doesn't keep it nearly so neat but I don't worry about it because there isn't much of a way to damage an all concrete house. My partner was thinking of moving there once but didn't. He was a very good house builder and we discussed things that needed to be done to the place. With a little upgrading it would be a very pleasant home. You can contact me at 417-818-9317

Thanks for the inquiry.

It sounds like Harry might have left more than enough money still buried in the property to pay your $219,000 asking price... Why not ask more, say $400,000?!?   Cool

You didn't say, but if the land and house is sold, that means the new owner has no obligation to give anythhing they find to you or your friend who own rights now, right?

EF if you want to give $400,000 go right ahead.

CS There will be no residual obligations, ALL rights go with the place.

I'm old and just want to get out of debt and enjoy what I have left of life.

Why not organize a big treasure hunt weekend? Get a huge group of people together and go find it all. You can charge an entry fee, and Participants share in a 10% cut of the Loot divided by the number of participants.

I'll take .01 % for coming up with the idea  Grin
