Well after getting a Roman Silver & hammered yesterday, I was bedding in for a tough day.  However, on my first run & my first find (dug a few bits of rubbish) was a tiny Gold Celtic coin.  My 5th Gold Coin this year (our 6th) icon_thumright  Took me 20 years to get my first Celtic Gold, now Dad & I have had 5 in the last 2 years Shocked
We have done this land many times & its full of junk from an old WWI era allotment, we keep clearing the junk every year & it has finally paid of.  This coin is no bigger than 10mm.

Hey Crusader,

Nearly all your finds are "golden" IMHO. But that tiny coin is fantastic! Our $1 gold coin, from the 1800's is also very small, but also very beautiful. Easy to see how they could be lost.
Keep at it.

I don't remember exactly, but it was a good(ish) signal, only being about 2 or so inches deep.  I try & learn all the sounds but I'm not fussy, I dig most signals especially iffy ones & clear plenty of junk including most iron.  I don't think about it long, I just dig.  Speed is my secret to UK field hunting.  Get the junk in the pouch quickly & move on.

UPDATE:

Update on recorded examples (x10 for real figures)
Up to 2005 there were 42 others of this type in the Index, I don't have the recent cards to hand but by now there will be around 50; when Van Arsdell was putting his catalogue together there were only a dozen or so, hence the 'extremely rare' rating he gives it, nowadays it would be classed as either very scarce or rare.
The TASC in panel quarters were almost certainly struck alongside the TASCIO RIGON staters near the end of Tasciovanus' reign, so it probably dates to 1-10 AD or thereabouts.
