Seems a little dead around here. I have followed the last few threads a while back and see that there is nothing new anymore. Did the Archies get to you guys? I see Wisconsin passed the waterway B.S. law. What about private land? We don't even have landowner rights here in Canada but too bad, I'm going to continue to save history without the "Professionals" cooperation. But you Americans have rights when it comes to private lands. Surely someone has made some finds. Even a rolled bead would look good right now. Copper Culture artifacts are incredibly rare out here so I need my fix. PLEASE!
Well maybe I will pull out some of my pieces that I am not sure if the are Prehistoric or historic if all else fails but I really want to see someone post something here. As far as metal detecting goes, this topic is as old as you can get. Older than what the Europeans are finding! Don't let this section die!
    Dave.

I guess with a 110 views and not one response the answer is obvious. Maybe the moderators should think about getting rid of this section and adding a new section that will see more action.
Sorry to hear that, as I find this area fascinating but I do not find enough of these artifacts out here to add to this forum. Cry
My avatar is all I got and maybe a few rolled beads and a possible awl. If someone wants to see a close-up of those items maybe I could post them but really it would be like whipping a dead horse.
I hope someone is still finding something out there.
    Good luck,
    Dave.

I don't hunt these relics myself but do enjoy reading the various posts.

My guess is few people live where the artifacts are to be found and many who do--don't know where to hunt them.

In Michigan there's really not many hot spots for them. You have to have some person with experience take you to the spots and show you how it's done.

I know a MSP lady up in northern Michigan who water hunts the U.P. but she won't say any more than that. She has her office filled with giant Copper Complex (Culture) spear points, etc., she gets out of the shallow water every year. Her finds are unbelievable.

The hunters and finders are out there but like any other kind of treasure--those consistently making  the really big finds don't say much.
