This is me and Ciro stood in front of the river Dart in Devon.  The pilgrim fathers sailed from here and around the coast to plymouth before sailing to the new world.

Thank you all for the kind comments. Sadly there are those on certain UK forums that love to degrade the police service every opportunity they get.

You've got my respect for being a Police.
There is a heated debate here in Sweden if the police is even trust able these days.
Hope you don't have the same problem. Smiley

Those that don't trust the police here are usually those that have agrudge against the police for one reason or the other.  there are genuine cases whereby a police officer has given the service a bad name, but these are very much in the minority.
There is good and bad everywhere and the police service is no exception.  The majority work very hard, are not armed, and are tied up with so much paperwork, that it becomes very difficult to get out on the streets to perform core policing skills.

Yes the bureaucrats have taken over here to, everywhere.
Its always a few that give the majorities a bad name, same with detecting.

I put in 25 years as a cop here in the US, when many times it was a whole lot like the wild west.  (No retirement benefits though)  So I don't degrade cops.  There are bad ones, but as a rule good cops don't tolerate them.  Fireman, on the other hand, I like to make fun of them.  (Just kiddin, guys!)

There was a thread on here I went and asked the moderators to look at and pull,    they did some were being very nasty to police!
Mostly police are great like you said and there are some bad, I have only known a hand full of bad and in a small town it makes it worse.   But, I will not let any one cut them all down ! It's not right!  Jeff was deputy and firefighter soooo....   icon_sunny

I worked very closely with the firefighters, MG.  Ever body loved them because they come and put the fire out, saved you, gave your old dog CPR, and got your cat out of the tree.  Then we arrested you for setting the fire in the first place.  I love em all and still give em h***, and they give me h*** in return.

Nice pic. I just got a drug dog assigned to me and looking forward to the oppurtunity. Don't worry there is always the crowd that hates the police or respects the police. Never an in between. Its funny talking about the fire department, my father is a retired firefighter and the on going joke is he tells me, " any sissy can carry a gun, but real men fight fires". Its our on going joke.

Nice looking partner...What breed is he??German shepherd???..I was a reserve police officer here in the States....I worked usually 30-40 hours a week as an unpaid reserve officer doing basically everything a paid full time officer did....saw a lot, learned a lot and grew to respect all law enforcement -city, state, federal......came from a long line of law enforcement....grandpa was deputy sheriff in Mississippi....uncle was reserve officer....cousins and other were police officers....

Fireman are just plain crazy....hahaha.....they all say they walk where the devil dances and that they find them hot and leave them wet.....gotta respect anyone who goes into an inferno and enjoys it.....Ciro is a good looking dog....see ya around
