Detector used Detector(s) Used - WHITE'S MXT (and man is she hot!)

Posted Nov 03, 2009, 05:11:34 pm

Went back to the silver park today...I was tired of digging the same old same old, so I called the head of the historic society and told him what I do.  We have a County Museum here, and I would LOVE to save some history, so I told him that, and he said he would be delighted to help me find some old places...and off the top of his head he named a couple of old school houses and churches that are OLDDDD and some that are no longer standing...why do I feel like I am working with the enemy...lol  But he said he is not interested in the old coins (which I am), just the relics.  I get a lot of enjoyment out of digging, cleaning and researching them, but I do not have enough room to store them all, so I would be happy to donate them and share them with others!  Plus I like the idea of having my name associated with great relics in a museum:)

    Anyway, here are the kills...
ANOTHER 1917 fifty feet from the other, with a 1940 wheat I threw in the "nonkeeper" pile I went through tonight...

Awesome story! I've thought about doing the same thing with our local museum. I hope the "partnership" continues to work out for you. And those are some beautiful dimes! Almost had a barber.

That is a great idea,I thought about doing that when I lived up in the city,I even contacted them but the lady was VERY snippy and said all their sites were not to be disturbed and proceeded to read me the riot act about if I was caught at any of their places and the consequences ect...Im way out in the country now and there is a little museum in town, maybe I will present them with a couple of local relics and see how they respond.try and keep us posted with the details of how your relationship progresses...Shoot
