How long before my new coin garden matures??

Made my first coin test bed today I know the coins need to be planted for a while before they are a proper representation of true found coins. How long till they get a halo. I used roseies and wheats at 2, 4, 6, 8, & 10 inches.

Depends on the weather conditions and the soil type etc... Every week you will probably tell a slight difference depending on your detector used...

I don't know how true it is but someone told me to dump saltwater on your teast garden and it will help with the halo. As I said I don;t know if it dose or not......Matt

the Silver will take Longer then the rest.

There are those who Don't believe Silver has a Halo
But It does get something with the tarnish.
it just takes longer.

 Should be good in about 75 years or so.   

Mine have been in the ground for 2 years.

You DO know that it's too late to plant coins right?

they won't mature or germinate now..

Seriously, I would leave them through a full climate change, (one year) before anything changes.

Best to wait for a full moon...

Watering them will help if the ground is dry. Soak for about 3 hours.  You want to get down to the deepest one.  A thought, fertilizer might help.  I know in farm fields it plays havoc on coins.

Thanks folks. amazingly my ace picks em up good except for the 10 inchers which read as iron or not at all. Thats with my 10 by 14 DD coil.

You will note that a signal may be weak when the ground is bone dry, however, following a rain or after being irrigated, the signal will be strong.

Not sure the overall size of this 'Field of Dreams', but maybe you can water a portion so you can experience the duality of signal strengths...

Try planting both steel and copper wheaties...and more recent Linc's...3 types of signals...Buffalo and modern nickels may give you another set of signals...

I'm told that you may experience a growth of weisent at spring time...keep us informed
