One of the tellers at one of my usual banks called me yesterday.

She received, as a deposit, a lot of "old bills" she thought I might like.

I stopped in this morning and she had forty one (41) 1$ Silver certificates for me !

None really crisp, mostly old and musty, but for face; you can't beat it.

'35C - 1
'35F - 1
'57 - 14 (including one star note)
'57A - 11
'57B - 14 (including two star notes)

I see some chocolates in that teller's immediate future.   Cool

Stopped in this same branch (see above) of one of my usual banks to dump some coin and a teller calls me over.

There's a stack of silver certificates on the counter and they're from the same customer who dropped off the last batch...only this time he's standing there.  The teller was giving this gentlemen my contact info, for he still had more, and I happen to walk in.

We introduce ourselves and apparently he has some more...also older coin, and only wants face for it.

We never really got into why he has so much, or why he only wants face for it, but after forty one silver certificates last time, and another twenty eight this time, I may be on to a good thing.   Cool

The ones so far are mostly worn and musty, but I'll try (again) offering him a bit more than face. They're still a good deal.

This time the 28 SCs were:

$1 '57 - 3
$1 '57A - 13 (including one star note)
$1 '57B - 11
$5 '53A - 1

I'm always nice to tellers, chat it up with them whenever I come in and (apparently) they appreciate it.   Though not my intent, as my conversations and interest are genuine, it does seem to be paying good dividends.

Nice begets nice.

Stay tuned.

Great scores.  You are one of my inspirations sir.  And you are right, Nice Begets Nice.  Too much rudeness getting passed around and accepted/encouraged lately on these forums (mostly the crh forum).  Kind of a turn off.  But love your attitude and your posts Thurm!

Thanks for the kind words Doc.

Let's hope I hear from "that customer" again.  (he has my info, but I don't have his).   Either way, it's been a nice ride.

Yeah, tempers running high over on the CRH side.    Huh
