Me and Mayo down by the schoolyard.

Hit that wheatie tree this morning.  Turned on the machines and right off I got a '25 merc.  At the same time Mayo turned on his rig, swung it and blammo, a merc too!  This was very cool!

Sadly it was my only silver coin of the day, but I had a great time with other whatsits to be sure.  And hey, it's a wheatie tree, not a merc tree.  While they didn't pour forth from the ground in thanks for our presence, they did make themselves available to our troweling.  I got 5 wheaties and a 1882 IH.

Other goodies also showed up.  A nice circa 1890's Krementz collar stud, man did I get fired looking deep into that 7" hole and seeing that golden glimmer.  Got a strange pendant/charm with no silver mark.  The tiny badge that reads Gazzolo diagonally, missing the backpin, what's that all about?

Oh yeah, a pipe fitting from the last episode of "When good plumbing breaks bad" with the screen still in the "bowl" and a tiny lock latch that fires the imagination.  The real treat is the near total lack of junk on this site and we've only gotten 35% of it or so done.  We'll be back!

Great hunt, Tim. Looks like the wheatie tree repaid you for cleaning up around her roots!

Mayo scored big on wheaties today, topping me with two silvers also!

Of course the candy sales were up at the park, since sometimes it seems you can't be too old even if you are, but that's a story for a fireside chat with Mayo.... we're gonna miss this weather all too soon.

It's good to see you're back in that silver groove. . .  and that collar stud is really cool!

During the past few months, I've found some of those plumbing fixtures as well. . . sad commentary for sure.

Nice finds, Tim!!!  Congrats! thumbsup thumbsup thumbsup

That hoopdee thing is cool, too!

I googled Gazzolo pin and saw the word "pinup" in the third result. Smiley   Came up with a pic of Joanna Lumley which I post here for your enjoyment. Wink

Nice finds, Tim!  That sure is a sharp merc.  Gotta be a big tree, too...
