Hit an old school site in a bean field.  The weather was SUPER!!!  First couple hits were toasty wheats, then a toasty 1889 Indian.  This field is not kind to copper!!  Then I got what seemed to be a nice half dollar hit, but no, not a half, instead a nice 1922-23 soccer medal!!  it is marked sterling. That made my hunt!!  Then I got an ugly thimble and a pice of lead with coin impressions in it. Looks like 1905.  A great day weather wise, and not too bad a hunt. HH all. Dan

Lead thing looks like someone impressed a 190(2?) Liberty Head nickel into it.

Here's another similarly dated and marked medal we worked on exactly one year ago.

great hunt for sure Dan! you've got some great relics, congrats on that big hunk of silver.  I wonder if that was supposed to be a mold for making counterfeit liberty nickels, very cool stuff!   thumbsup
