Nice job on that Indian Jeff!!!  Even laying on the top of the ground I might have walked by that signal, how did the signal compare to the other Indian and Eagle pennies?

    Congrats again  icon_thumleft

    Dave

Both The Eagle & the Indian from Before gave
    the Exact Same signal.

    Cantab range

I Double Checked a Late Indian
     it came up copper range.
So it's Definately the Early ones

    they are .880 Copper
    .120 Nickel
    4.67 Grams

    Compared to

    .950 Copper
    .050 tin and Zinc
    3.11 Grams starting 1864

Nice group of finds, that's the first I heard of electrolisys on a penny, usually it's proxide. How long did you leave it in there?

Nice finds, Jeff, seems like your area turns up a lot of those pigeon bands. I finally found one the other day and thought of you.

You could always electrolyze that Indian completely and then retone it.  Sort of cheating, but it might come out looking decent.   Nice find, unusual to dig one of those in any condition.

Yep I Believe most Discriminate the Early Indians out
    considering what they sound like.

the 63 indian I Got the other day
wouldn't even Repeat at 2 to 3 inches.

this one was about 7" down
sounded like brass or even Lead gave a number like
    small brass or cantab.

But when your digging like this :

    What's one More Hole ?

    Lotta Pigeon Raizers here.
Some for Fun, Some for Racing.

Unfortunately non I Know of raizing for Squab

First Band from NED was Copper or Brass from 1919
Maybe on a Cock Fighting Rooster
Or trained Bird used in Pigeon Shoots,
    considering all the shotgun brass

    yesterdays possably June 58
or he had a Bunch of 65's Made up
and just added the Birth month at the end
    when needed. definately Pigeon.

    Thanks Everyone !
    Jeff
