I got out on Sat for just a quick 1/2 hour to check out some old dirt hills at a school. Got 4 pennies. On the way back to the car I was swinging half hazardously when I got a signal in the middle of the big field. Sounded like a deep quarter...I thought silver for sure since it's a very old school field...Got down about 8 inches and the probe chirped a little...hum...deeper... dug out a bout an inch or so and the probe was singing... I thought the it had to be a half or a quarter. Dug out some more and the signal was out of the hole...Always love to know that....Moved the dirt around and that when I saw the big " slotted hole disc "  Darn no silver....Cool looking 1965 F.P.D. #67 Tag... The best part of it was " I didn't scratch it."  ( if it would have been a big coin I probably would have scratch it )
Today Sun. I got out with Neil at an old park. Managed to score 2 silver dimes  (1952 & 1945 )and some wheaties. After that I hit a big field on the way home and scored a few wheaties and a 1936 Merc... Came home with $5.10 in clad, a football ring,WB Item, 1970 Rabies Tag , 3 silver, 8 wheaties.
Thanks for coming out Neil...It was fun.....again.....

Thanks for the invite, Bob!  Congrats on the great finds, you silver seeking dog, you!!! thumbsup thumbsup thumbsup

I wonder if that was a picnic table tag...

It was a great day at the park. Too bad the silver wasn't as plentiful as the wheats.

Lots of dogs out there though, and you got the tag!

God bless our veterans!  Thank you for your sacrifices!

Cool tag Bob!  The best part about it is the feeling you experienced digging it up.  It's still a keeper, but that thrill I think is what keeps us digging.

Awexome silvers too!  I think you're going to pass me up now... gotta get out there and hunt.

Great finds, Bob!  Three silvers in a day is great!  Well, to me, that's a great day.  I'll bet that FPD tag got your heart going for a moment, before you realized what it was...
