I'm posting this for my father in law. He found this in the same area that he found a sword belt plate, a coupe of buttons, and three ringers? It's been years since he's been to this site and a lot has changed construction wise. Surprise, Surprise. There is a little field left and apparently this area was where the wounded soldiers were brought from the battlefield Huh? He returned this week and was able to find this. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks for looking and HH.

My WAG is;
A detonator
Don't hit it to see what happens!  tongue3

Edit: Thinking about it, it could be a thermocouple as trader says  icon_scratch
