ok whos the china expert???  found a bottle dump hunting with corroded copper the other day and this is a piece of a plate.  there a date but also some writing. any info.  thanx  willy

1832 isn't the date the plate was made, it's the date the company was founded.  If you can get your hands on an English porcelain/china collectors book, you should be able to look up the backmark to date the piece. 

Looks like you've found a promising spot to hun  thumbsup
