I went back to where I found the 1690s coin this afternoon and found this stone relic. Best guess is it is an ancient pestle or net weight. There were a lot more natives on this site than French.

You're gonna have quite a collection of that stuff.  I've got hundreds of points and scrapers but these larger stone artifacts are rare. Only this, two axes, a ceremonial spear and an etched mystery piece.

That is a neat and interesting artifact. The shape is perfect so not sure it could be a grinding stone. Maybe it's a hammer
