Monday I got out to a new site. Its a park now on the outskirts of town but used to be a farm site
complete with a horse training track. Where the house stood is now overgrown with trees, but as I worked my way through them I came across 2 huge apple trees. Bingo! I only had an hour to scope this place out, but managed the reed, square nail and the '23 Buffalo.

Today I hit our local park which has been active since the 1860's as popular picnic grove. We've scored plenty of silver here but never any on the best looking hillside, overlooking the lake. Just figured its been hit hard for 30 years and there's nothing left. Boy was I wrong... Both the '35 Merc and the '01 Barber came from the same area about 30' apart. Couldn't even dig an old wheatie there (just a '56) but I'm not complaining.  Grin

After realizing I could get my first dime Trifecta with just a Rosie, I jumped ship at this spot and went down the street where I dug a fast Rosie the other day. I spent an hour trying to pull one up, but to no avail. Maybe next time......

Thanks for looking & HH!!
