We had an hour and a half today, so I went back out to the old tavern site today with my son...  started out by getting 30 seconds away from the car with a Wheatie ....   It was literally along the edge of the sidewalk and on top of a copper wire - but still sounded good!   dontknow

Headed out to the field, continued to scan the area near where the half dime was found on Tuesday.  Was about 20 feet from that spot and had a good sounding signal, but the ID numbers were jumping on the Etrac... From a 10 - 19 on the Ferrous side but somewhat steadier on the conductive at a 30-31.    I had my son hit it with the Ace 250 and on that machine it bounced consistently between steel and a nickle.  He said it was junk.   Grin

Well I liked the sound   Cool ... dug down to about 6 inches and found a jaw harp. tongue3   It then broke in my hands.  Angry   So, I thought, my son was right.   Roll Eyes

Wrong!  I rescanned the hole and plug, now the signal screamed at me - a 12-27.   Wink  Barely in the bottom of the uprooted plug I found it... this little thin silver disc.   hello2

First thought was... NO... can't be another half dime!   Alas it wasn't.  My first III center... a nice 1852.    hello2 headbang

4" deep, mixed with Iron.  I love this Etrac!!!     Grin icon_thumright
