Very nice, Old River!  What kind of a hit do those give (foil, tab, etc.)?  Just curious.  They're so small, I'd guess they don't come through as a regular coin on the meter?

As a matter of a fact what you see is what I saw when it came out of the ground. I couldn't believe it was as clean as it was. I had to do very little cleaning on it. What got me is that I have looked this same spot hundreds of times, and never found it until today. It did come up on my detector as a silver dime. It's easy to miss one, and come back later, and find it.

You never know what kind of signal those half dimes will give you!  My first two both rang up as quarters; imagine the shock when these tiny little disks showed up.  Congrats on your first!

This was a great find for me. I believe I can say that after reading a book I bought the other day contributed to my finding it. The book "Where to Find Treasure, by Dick Stout's". I didn't realize the mistakes I was making until I read it. It would probably do everyone good to read it. The thing he talked about described me to a tee. Thanks for the commets, and Happy Hunting to everone.
