Tony Cunningham, told Sky News television that the flood was "of biblical proportions" and seen "once every 1,000 years."

Not tryin' to start nothin' but what does this have to do with religion ? I mean other than the fact that someone said that it was of biblical proportions? Oh and what do you mean by the title "Flooding evokes Bible" ?

Why don't you make the effort Mac to look up the meaning.
It has everything to do with religion. Traditionally religion  provided  answers to mysteries.

I was talking about the mysteries of nature, the earth , sky and heavens, that ancient man
could not explain except by creating Gods , myths and fables, which interwoven, became
religions.
If the flood had occurred in a non-Christian country like Iraq , the expression,
Mother of all floods would be used.

you seem to think that history has always remained the same...  A non christian Iraq?? please equate this with 2 to 6 thousand yrs ago..

"Biblical proportion floods every 1000yrs"  I reckon thats as false a statment as could be made OR we are about 3000 yrs overdue, as thats as far as written history goes back.

Silly pig. NO one can undestand your lack of reasoning.

Not every 1000 years, but God does something major about every 2000 years. The first 2000 years the Flood came. The second 2000 years Christ came. The 3rd 2000 years...

Someday I will walk through my last valley.

    TC , that was a joke .
Remember Saddam said "The Mother of all Wars", hence my remark, The Mother of all Floods
which ties in nicely with the belief that Noah commenced his ark journey in central Iraq.
    Need I go on ?
