Well.... 20 cent silver from Cuba.  I was able to get out to hunt with my dad, and he found this 1916 twenty cent silver piece.  Seeing the star, I thought it was play money at first! Too bad it was not a US 20 cent piece.

I then had a quick trip with my son (age 6) and he helped dig up his first Civil War bullet.  He was very excited to be the first person to touch the bullet since it was dropped by a solder on his way to fight at Gettysburg!  This is the bullet on the upper right.  A second bullet was found that has a sharper tip - I still have much to learn about the different types!

Also, my friend found his best eagle button in about 25 years of detecting.  Seeing some of the gold on this one sure was great!

Happy Hunting!

Thanks everyone for your comments and Mackaydon for the link- funny to think this was one of our more valuable coins!
Let me know if anyone knows the difference between the two bullets.  There is no mark on the inside of either, but one is definitely more pointed than the other.
Thanks for looking!

Both bullets look like .58 caliber 3 ring mini's  there are a lot of varients of these bullet. The button is a US infantry officers button. The ones with the curved serifs on the I are a little later but can still be civil war. Can you post a pic of the back? That would help date the button
