Looking for someone with information about owners of land Battle of Colenso

I am keen to go and look for relics of the Battle of Colenso. I need information of how to go about getting permission to look for relics and guidance on whether I can retain any relics found.

I am also looking for information on obtaining large scale maps of the area to enable me to locate the best sites to look.

I also need to find someone to join me for security reasons.
