anyone collecting these......

i have seen these before and had no idea what they were or why it was done. i found out by accident that these tiny stamps are used by exchangers to verify authenticity of U.S. currency.

With the rampant fakes a person wanting American money must go to an exchanger who verifies the authenticity of every bill by stamping it.

Again drug dealers make there own stamps so each time the note is exchanged it gets re-stamped. By the time these bills com back to the U.S. they passed about a dozen exchangers and also several kilos of drug money.

so the question.....does anyone collect these? apparently they may devalue the bill if the ink can't be removed.

I don't collect them, but thanks for the informative article.  I always wondered what those little stamps were for.

it was just an article i found. i had seen these stamps before and had no idea what they were for.

I've seen them, not a real big deal. I wouldn't collect them just because of the stamp.

Since you posted this I have seen lots of 100 bills with them. Today I found my first $1 bill. I saved it. I think they are cool.
