Just wondering what you think this might be... it weighs 1.2 lbs, the hole is not threaded and runs straight through.

Jimbob is right , Drill steel the hole blows air to keep hole clear of dust and cool bit tips.

Yep,they also canaled water through the hole,to keep the dust down,Thousands of miners died of silicosis or "Rocks in the Box)from breathing the quartz rock dust,the old drills were called widow makers for that reason thumbsup

M.X.T , Tesoro Tejon 4"& 2.5" dredge with a little luck!!
