The last couple of hunts have been more exciting. . . from a visual standpoint. . . that usual.

The ground cover has been burned at one of these sites revealing decades worth of "trash"
which is now turning out to be our treasure. There's lots of glass. . . although broken. . . but still
interesting enough to get you "side-tracked" when reading the embossed bottle beverage names
and the back-marks on what's left of the shattered china.

One of the cellar holes we've been hunting has been around since the late 1860's and all that's left,
are the caved-in remains of it's original foundation.

My most interesting find at this site was a "Shermerville" Trustee badge. In 1923, Shermerville changed
it's name Northbrook so this badge, I would assume, pre-dates that year. About 10-feet from this badge,
I thought I found a small gold coin but it turned out to only be a Girl Scout Pin on edge Tongue. Then on the way
back to the car, I found a 1920 Merc that was badly tarnished. . . it's still a keeper though.

Around noon, DP-Bob and I moved to another spot that was just as old where Bob found his prize of
the day and I found enough horse tack hardware to open a stable. Definitely a place worth revisiting.

Thanks for looking!

Nice hunts.  That trustee badge is one of the cooler  and historic non-coin items I have seen posted this year.  Congratulations!

Mark, you find the coolest non-coin finds I have ever seen dug locally.  That's some cool horse equipment and badge.  We've gotta get our hunt on at least once more before the end of the season.
