Contest Time. I pulled a HALF DOLLAR out today. Guess The Year & Mint WINNER!!!

WaterColor, Kimsdad and I went out for a bit...My first place didn't look that good so I called it off....
We then met up at a grove that WaterColor wanted to check out....
I got 2 wheaties 1924 & 1927

Kimsdad's heart wasn't into hunting today....Maybe a long night with Mrs. Kimsdad.?
or he just wasn't feeling well....anyway...

Watercolor and I went and checked out an old homestead from the 1861 map....That I have been wanting to hit for almost a year.
That's when the Iron started to be dug....I got a cool horse bit and some buckles.
Next I pulled out THE SILVER HALF DOLLAR....then a couple IH's about ten feet away....
IH's are 1886 and 1905.....
I also got a nice spoon and a very cool stove plate....

Contest ends on THANKSGIVING NIGHT at 11:59pm.

Maybe it was the doe that got hit by the car & had to be shot, my headphone wire breaking, or my inner ear telling me that I'm coming down with something by making me walk in arcs to the left whenever I get up - or all three...

well can't win (nit from ill) but with 1886 to 1905 IH coins popping up -- the ideal would be a similar date range to then half -- not lets see which half had the highest mintage .

Lets break this down. Your IH were 1886-1905 and 10' away. From your reaction when you found your seated dime, I am going to say you would not have held back and made a contest with it so that rules out 1886 to 1891. With the IHs so close to the half, I am going to say Barber.

Barbers where struck between 1892 and 1915. Since you made emphasis on the range of your IHs that to me narrows the window down to 1892-1905. Since you also capitalized "MINT MARK", I am going to assume it has one. Out of all the Barber Halves from 1892-1905, w/mint marks, the 1900S had the most minted with 2,724,000.

Therefore, I am going to guess you found a "1900S Barber Half".

I couldn't play --not from ill -- but my guess would been philly 1899 based on the % factor --twice as many as the 1900 S
