Detector used Detector(s) Used - White's MXT, Tesoro Tiger Shark

Posted Nov 22, 2009, 07:31:02 pm

I found this badge recently.  It's about 2" wide and 2 1/2 " long.  Is a bit heavy and looks like it's silver.
On the top it says 'Points of Safety'.  The middle has the picture of St. Christopher holding the infant Jesus.  On the outside of that it reads....Cautiousness, Observance, Courtesy, Alertness.  In between each of those words are the abbreviations 'N','E','S','W' for North, South East and West, placed appropriately as if they were on a map.

Any ideas what this is, age and any more information?  I can't find anything on the Internet. One of my friends thinks it's a crossing guard badge for a Catholic School.  Seems reasonable enough to me, but would really like to know.

I really like it.  I still has the wires on the back that attached to whatever.

Found it in downtown Phoenix lot.

That is really cool. Can you post a pic of the back?  That might ake it a bit easier to ID.  Can you tell if it's silver or plated?

There isn't anything on the back except 2 wires.

I can't tell if it's silver or plated or any other indication of what kind of metal..It wasn't real tanished when it came out of the ground.  I was able to scrub all the crud off with water and a toothbrush..
It's fairly heavy, so I know it's NOT aluminum.....There aren't any 'Sterling' of '925'markings anywhere....

From what  I can tell about it, I would agree with your friend about it being a crossing guard badge or something like that. I  am surely not an expert on that type of thing though. Hopefull someone will know for sure. Sorry I couldn't be of any help on this.
