Here's a few things I found while out hunting with HEAVYMETALNUT...1800 Draped Bust Large Cent...1902 IH...Buttons...Buckle..Some kind of pin and hair clip. Alot of other odds N' ends not pictured. Thanks for looking.

Awesome finds. I've found that many flat buttons in one day, but never so many with the shank/loop intact. Usually they're bent or missing. That Large Cent is nice. My oldest is 1827. I want to dig one from 1800 or before. Congrats on a good hunt!  Cm2db |

yeah, every time I dig a "dandy" at first sight I think it's a large cent....But still equally excited. |

I copied the photos and increased the brightness on them. It appears that your coin is a 1800/79 overdate and the best I can tell it seems to be a Sheldon-196 variety. This variety is listed as 'very common' but ain't none of 'em common when you're trying to find them, huh? Nice grab! h-s |

very nice finds, love that 1800 LC and the dandy buttons One of my favorite finds is a dandy button that was down nearly 10 inches beneath some tree roots. |

I've never seen anyone dig one either, somehow this one ended up under my coil. A Vermont Copper was pulled from the same site, same day. 2 elusive coins plucked from a nook up in New England. |

The 8 is over 7 and the first 0 is over 9...that makes it an 1800/79, the best I can tell. There is a variety that is 1800/1798 but I can not make out an 8 beneath the last 0. The cropped image below is from a current eBay auction for this same overdate. Compare it to yours. |
