Found a Button..... Please help me ID

Please, I need help on this one.  It has Scovill mfg co Waterbury on the back and it's got small round dots all around underneith the printing.  My husband said it was the Illiniois Staff Officers Button 1A in the Albert's Button Book.  Can anyone give me a date?  Any information that you know of.  I really need your help.  I dug this Sunday in a private yard.  Thank you so much, Nancy

It is an ILL button  Can you post a pic of the back?  If the co for company has a capital C and small o it is 1880's If they are the same size there is a chance it is civil war. Civil war period Illinois are very rare. I only remember ever seeing one.  post civil war are fairly common but still cool to find
