Great Fun In the Tennesee and North Carolina Mountains

Yes it's Grand. Old time pics of people doing great things.
It's taken many hours to retrieve these historic photos.
When my wife and I came to here to run the education center there was literally 8 photos of the 80 year facility existence.  I have managed to find 70  and continue to search many databases so we may continue to save the history here.

Tell me you metal detected all those sites in the photos!

    It's where I found the NC Hillsborough military acadamy button.
I haven't detect the whole camp for sure....Why dont you come on out   

Those are some great old pictures, 4-H!  It really makes the history of that place come alive when you see it in print.  What are the girls doing in the 5th pic(13379)?  I have an old wooden tray like that and have always wondered what it was for?  Thanks for sharing!

It's the game "mancala".  Still widely available today.

You might consider a "before" and "after" photo comparison and publish a book... a little work for a little extra income.  Just thinking you could sell copies to campers... might be a hit!
