Detector used Detector(s) Used - Minelab Sovereign GT

Posted Jul 05, 2009, 01:11:33 pm

I think it was in the Hill/Franklin area but I've only heard bits & pieces.  There was a flood (maybe a springtime flood or a dam break) around 1930-38.  The flood washed out a toll booth and the till was washed down stream.  Oooh imagine all that silver. Shocked
If anybody has any details, I'd love to hear them.

Sorry to be bumping such an old thread but I've been poking around the NH section while waiting for the snow to melt and came across this. The story happened in Hill Village where the ghost town is if I remember correctly. The problem is that the entire town is federal property and is patrolled by Army Corps of Engineers guys in Blazers. I used to enjoy going down into the old village with my detector but last year when I was down there I was told by one of the federales that detecting and digging of any kind is no longer allowed. Never really found much in there anyway and had been told in the past that the whole area has been heavily hunted in the past.

Hey Bandit, thanks for checking in on this one.  I thought for sure it was a dead thread right out of the starting gate.
I too, am combing through the old threads biding my time between the ever decreasing days of bad ice fishing & the cool wet days of MD'ing.
