    Not Intended For Circulation...

Depending on who you ask they are either worthless or sought after by collectors...

A NIFC is a coin Not Intended For Circulation. Half dollars from 2002 + are NIFC coins. You can find a lot of them, so they're not worth keeping UNLESS they are in BU condition. But even then, they're probably worth 75 cents to a dollar at the most. If you can find a roll of NIFC's in it's original mint roll, than they'll go for a premium on eBay.

Congrats on your 1st silver. 1987s are also NIFCs. Keep an eye out for impaired proofs too, they're easy to spot because of their mirror finish.
