Detector used Detector(s) Used - Fishers 1235X-8" CZ-20/21-8" F-70-11"DD GC1023

Posted Nov 24, 2009, 05:13:20 am

26 hours to choose what to do this weekend:
To clarify:
#1 finds us in a city park between the lake and Lake Shore Drive
#2 finds us in a city park between the lake and the Rock River
#3 finds us in a wooded environment between the lake and the Rock River
#4 finds us scattered all over the city and burbs rushing to clear the woodchips of coinage and bling and meeting up somewhere central at a preset time to declare our finds.
#5 finds us making Bob pull one of those old maps out again and 'round and 'round he goes until he hits it with a dart.

Okay, the Rock River might be a stretch.  We should stick east of the Fox.

It's a squirrel gun, get it?

I'm good for Friday
or Saturday
or both.
If I can pick only one, I guess Friday since I'll need to burn off all the calories from Thursday.

With such a close race, it's gotta be a site with both woods and turf available.  Got one.

PM if you can show on Friday, PM me if you still want to show on Saturday.  Either way, there's no cleaning out or hunting out this site.  Unless of course Goio, McNickle and Mike Etrac all show up...

Whew, at least TMan is still in Texas...

Well I got a hit on one spot today that produced four wheaties in one small area.  All from the '20's.  Also found a wheatie tree there because there was a freshly fallen '44 on top of the dirt.  Found a bullet hotspot also.  Loads of fired lead which is a good indicator that has been lightly hunted in that area.

Other than that I found a couple okay coins and while emptying the sack at home realized I had a small waterbury button in there too.

Any guess on the era of the cool button?

Dunno John, guessing the area was hunting/shooting ground before and after it was occupied due to bullet volume.  Mayo got a mass of super-impacted bullets that looked like those clumps you find in some target range backdrops.  Got a couple moderately large cals myself so it might be somewhere back around turn of the last century.
