I know very little about old bottles, except that I think they are cool. A friend of mine found about 50 Virginia Dare Tonic bottles in her attic when putting on a new roof. She said a doctor built the house, and she figured he used the tonic as medicene. Could these bottles be worth anything?

Thanks,

NG,

I can't speak to the value of the bottles, but they do have an interesting history.

Also, I did some research on your "very early Chevrolet".  I think it is a 1913 model.  I collect antique Chevrolets but mine aren't THAT old.  I have a '48 and a '52.

Here is a neat youtube video showing how the car would have looked on the road.  The one in the video is a roadster.  Based on the number of top bows you found, I believe yours was the larger touring car model.

Thank you DCMatt, I like the history of those bottles, I haven't seen the collection of 50 bottles, and I don't know if they have the lables, I would think so if they were in a box in the attic.

1913, that's earlier than I thought, but the front of the car in the video looks like the same shape as the front piece we found. Can't wait till the timing is right to go back out there. We've decided to pull as much of the car out of the hill as we can, and lay it all out. I hope we can find something worth bringing home. thanks for the reply,

ng
