This will help dispel some of the naysayers about our metal detector of choice. I found this today in a park in Louisiana. It is my first gold ring and I have been actively doing this for about 2 months. Keep the faith.

Hey man that's an awesome find. Pay no attention to the naysayers. I have yet to find any gold with my BH but I have found some pretty awesome stuff at locations heavily hit by the "premium" detectors. Keep on swingin' and keep on postin' those finds!

Capt1989,

Very nice find, and all those people who own other machines will still insist that the Bounty Hunter is a beginner model, and will not stack up to theirs.

By the way, yesterday I went out with my Lonestar and found a Army US collar pin, and a old baseball medal at a old homesite. I will post pictures later.

Again, excellent find.

Currious, where in the park did you find it? How deep was it? What kind of signal did you get from it?

Hey capt. just saw your post. Great find. The last time I used my lonestar was at the jersey shore and i found 3 nickels. If I am dialed in to find nickels, the gold will be found also, if its there.

Nice find ..Gold is always sweet & rewarding..when I began detecting in the mid 80's I used a Bounty Huntr Big Bud ..w/8 in.coil & found  gold in hard hunted areas.. one ring was a thin 14k & white gold ring  ..regrets I sold it.. rings always had a solid light hit in Disc. & were weak soft sounding in all-Metal..I found hundreds of old deep coins with the B-Bud..H-Hing

It was loud and strong as the ring was only a couple of inches down. It kinda had an almost double beep, as if the coil was detecting both sides as I swept over it. I was using my coil of choice that day, the 4 inch sharpshooter. Can't beat it for trashy areas! HH.
