A couple of years back My wife and I decided to
go on a pilgrimage of sorts...

We decided to trace the origins of many of the coins we
have been  recovering from the Jupiter Shipwreck over the
past 20 years..... read2

Take a look at the following link if you are into a real adventure headbang

http://jupitercoins.com/Potosi2.html

Since 1987 our Jupiter Wreck has continued to yield coins but the question, "Where's the rest of the Ship?" has remained unanswered...  There are 2 layers of shipwreck scatter and we are equipping the "Enterprise" to excavate the primary treasure layer.  Join with us this year!

It is great to see the types of tools used to strike the planchetes, and the planchete anchoring base. The hammers have a curved eyehole at the end of their iron handle, and this reminds me of a chasing hammer grip, and may have been held like this to do the final detail strike. Thanks for the pictures.

What was most memorable to me was
showing the miners in the mountain the encrusted
silver coins from Potosi re-encased in a form of
rock from the sea occasion14

Did you all check out Uncle Tio???
