I have metal detected for 20 years now....but have now got hooked on hunting arrowheads and fossils. Yesterday, Dec 6th 2009, I found my first good arrowhead. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. I have tried searching the web for great sites on some native american history....but havent found what I want. If you know of a really good site where I could get educated...please let me know. Thanks!

VERY nice --Welcome to the club!! This is an addictive hobby. If you want the best education get to know fellow collectors in your area. Talk with them, they will have the best knowledge for your particular area of the country and can recommend the best books for you.It looks like you have a small blade or knife.--Very nice!

Thanks....I appreciate it! Yes....I am hooked. We have  done a lot of hunting this year....and have found more than enough pieces of flint....and a few whole and broken pestils. I admit....I have been getting a bit discouraged....but now....I have the fever more than ever! I got one under my belt....so now I am off and running!

Welcome to the addiction, I am telling the truth, it is an addiction and there is no 12 step program for it...don't dis the pestles that you have been finding, they are a part of the history of the area...There are quite a few members in your area that will chime in as time goes by, you can usually ask them anything and they will answer your questions. Post some of the pestles, we like pictures...
