Here is a side scan image of what appears to me as a cannon although i can't be certain until it's positively identified. This is located next to where two bronze cannons and lots of artifacts were found years before. It is believed that this is the wreck of the "La Viette".
What do you guys think? If you look close it appears to have dolphins....

Sorry, i cant see anything here.

Det vi vet er så uendelig lite mot det som har hendt. Arkeologen er som den som går langs en strand og finner småtterier, skyllet i land fra et forsvunnet skib. Men selve skibet som gikk i dypet med menneskene får han aldri se.

Ok, I posted a different image... Can you see it now? It's right at the left edge of the image.. This side scan was on a 50' scale...

How about now!!!.. use your imagination a little...... it was taken using an older humminbird with 455KHZ freq and 50' scale. The image of what appears to me as a cannon was 50' away from the boat when i captured it.

Greg, I see the object. Only a dive will tell.
Here is one that I swore was a cannon until we dove on it! Look at the taper and you can almost see the trunions right!

Your right, you never know until you put your eyeballs on it!!! I noticed though your side scan is on 150' scale.. that "cannon looking object" in your screen shoot must be 25' to 30' long.... The one in my image measures 5' that is exactly how long the other two cannons were that were found nearby. I probably will never ID this target but its cool to look at.

Hey Gaetan, it's good to see you on TNET...but I'd rather see you at Diego's while gearing up for a dive. LOL Maybe someday soon...thanks for the info on Le Conquérent. I'll be looking forward to the captains letter very much.
Greg, I still see it, and there were 4 others that really had some potential out of that set. Unfortunately we only got to check a few of the targets before we made the find at Maimon...shortly after that the weather and money went to crap, and here we are. LOL BTW, the two targets I did get to check were palm logs that had washed out of the river, partially esposed and partially buried...with about 2 meters protruding.
NCR needs a full time team dedicated to combing the whole are with handheld mags...everytime we go there we find more...and if those chests are still there somebody's going to have a great day. You can't dispute that the wreck is there...I've seen it with my own two eyes. I never did get to dive that little string of mag hits closer in to the beach either. It's a shame to loose funding with such a bright future ahead of us.
Where is the funding these days? We refuse to be stock market swindlers and in today's economy...that leaves us broke? It troubles me.
